the beginning of the Whitebook
The whitebook is a journal and a personality
series meant to boost my confidence and ability to work behind and in front of
the camera as a model and an art creative. The reason behind this is to have an
origin story and let people have an understanding of my vision and content and
of course an inspiration for others to follow in my footsteps. My opinions will
be expressed in different questions and statements leading to the completion of
my profile and pending art notion.
I decided
to use the name The whitebook because I wanted a piece of myself in my work. The
originating from my name “Gabriella” this allows me to imprint on my ideas and
personality contrast. Whitebook is just word play inspired by the racial and
tribal conflicts in both personal and professional experiences. I want to
picture myself or at least what I want to become through my work before letting
it onto the world.
As an
original manuscript The whitebook: The Leading Notion will contain both fulfilled and
unfinished projects as well as outlined visions and my journal entry
perspectives supporting each of them. I believe modelling is a craft that
people look down upon without understanding that like other platforms, it gives
artists the chance to collaborate and bring ideas to life and is just as
important as any other platforms in our
daily lives. In most occasions modelling
is used to promote propaganda[1]
in politics, ethics, history and fashion which is why in my opinion is the
reason why most artists who go against those propagated principles are deemed
as radicals[2]. I
do believe that living in a world of free thinkers and liquid minds[3]
maybe a contributing factor to the
never-ending interpretation of art and its crafts.
Given
the over turning events in the world, some of the world famous arts creations
are then interpreted to fit the political, social, economic, technological and religious
weather. I grew up believing that art is time inelastic or only relates to the
time it was created but as time went I then realize that art is a middleman
between opinions of the past, present and future. A lot of people see modelling
as a way of promoting unattainable standards of beauty and lifestyle but I have
always seen it as an artistic craft of presenting art creations in a lively and
realistic set up. A model carries the responsibility of both explaining the
artwork and revealing the emotions behind it. We get this though posture and formation
of the model during presentation and it is up to the model to match the energy
of the artwork and give an astonishing show.
Change is inevitable and its time people change the way they see arts and its crafts. This notion is just the beginning of a new way of receiving and understanding the fine arts as a whole. Some of the worlds’ greatest artists have given the world a new perspective and that exactly what I want to do because we can’t all see the problems but some of us need to come up with solutions. Art and its crafts have an exceptional effect on the youth and one can’t help to wonder if it’s because art is able to forge a bridge between the young and the old without miscommunication or misinterpretation of messages but a lot of occasions have ruled this theory out because majority of the youth has a very vivid expression of art of which the old see as offensive or vulgar. I do believe that art and its crafts have the power to build as well as destroy depending on the principles, emotions, experiences, visions and opinions of artist and that’s where this notion comes in.
